FRANCESCA CORRIAS E SUNFLOWERS IN DE DIORA

A show that is a concentrate of culture and an invitation to follow, tracing backwards, the precious threads that keep us tied to our land. Another appointment of the 3rd edition of 'La luna sotto casa', another moment of entertainment, but also of growth for the citizenship: on Friday 14 July, Francesca Corrias and the Sunflower arrive at the Ex Caserma.

Francesca Corrias, one of the most important voices on the national jazz scene, exactly eleven years after the release of 'Frattale', her first successful album with the historic Sunflower quartet, returns to the stage with 'De Diora' and once again meets her old travelling companions for a fascinating new production, rich in sounds, melodies, atmospheres, and performed entirely in the Sardinian Campidanese language.

It is a return to the origins, unearthing those sounds and that language in the meanders of memory. Memories that bring back the customs and stories of daily life in our communities. Images, customs and words resurfaced from time and transformed by Sunflower into compositions, accompanied by the warm sounds and heterogeneous influences from Brazil and the Mediterranean that characterise the ensemble formed by Filippo Mundula on double bass, Sandro Mura on piano and Pierpaolo Frailis on drums.

An ambitious project, 'De Diora', in which nothing is left to chance, starting with the fundamental poetic and linguistic advice of the writer Maria Gabriela Ledda, who assisted the singer in her search for the most beautiful and profound forms of the Campidanese language.

And then there are the arrangements and scores for strings and wind instruments by Silvano Lobina, with the contribution of a few but invaluable guests: Marco Argiolas on saxophone, Matteo Sedda on trumpet, Gianluca Pischedda on cello, Olesya Emelyanenko on violin, Luca Faraone on guitars and Massimo Ferra on guitar for one special performance.

The performance is scheduled for Friday 14 July at 9.30 p.m. at the Ex Caserma in Via Roma 30. A reflection in music, a live performance in which words almost seem to blossom, evoking the people and scents of long ago, rediscovering and regaining the true roots of what we are.
