Religious feast of St. John the Baptist 23 and 24 July
Also this summer the feast of San Giovanni Battista returns: set the dates for the penultimate weekend of July which will once again see allegorical floats and carriages parade in honor of the beloved saint in Quartu Sant'Elena.
On the evening of 23 July we will go from Quartu to the country church of Sant'Andrea, inside the Andrea Parodi park, along via San Salvatore, piazza IV Novembre, via Fiume and via Leonardo da Vinci, while on the evening of the 24th we will return.
In the meantime, preparations have begun: the choice of the seven girls (the tracchere) who will accompany each of the seven traccas, the ancient peasant carts decorated for the holidays.
The preparation of the so-called gateau will also be central, there will be one for each tracchera: masterpieces of almonds and sugar in the shape of a church.
