Romanesque Days
Two days to rediscover the timeless beauty of Romanesque architecture in Sardinia: art, spirituality, history, and culture intertwine in a unique experience amidst ancient churches, archaeology, music, and nature.
Guided tours of the splendid Romanesque churches of:
• Sant'Agata
• Santa Maria di Cepola
• San Benedetto
• San Forzorio (free shuttle on the 19th of Oct.)
• San Pietro di Ponte
Saturday the 18th:
• Visits to the Molentargius Park (reservations required - call +39 389 348 6490)
• 5:00 PM: Screening of the documentary film "Romanesque Sardinia" in Campidanese (Former Capuchin Convent)
• 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM: The Light of the Romanesque – Vocal and musical concert in the church of San Benedetto, entirely by candlelight
Sunday the 19th:
• Excursions to the Nuraghe Diana (Baia Azzurra - Is Mortorius)
• Guided tours led by archaeologists from the University of Cagliari in all churches from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM and from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM
• 5:30 PM: Recitation of the Rosary in ancient Sardinian (Church of San Benedetto)
Plus: open to the local community with a display of local products and the participation of Quartu winemakers.
